Winter weddings

Winter weddings are very popular as the dark nights, log fires, twinkling of candlelight, rustic smells of cinnamon, oranges and sap from the trees are enough to ignite the romance most of us.

This was evident during this winter with a few of our much loved personalities tying the knott:

Billie Piper was married on New Years eve in Surrey in a church, amongst the guests were Chris Evans and his new wife. They kept it very low key with friends and family.

Katherine Heigl (greys anatomy) married Josh Kelley in a Deer Valley in Utah where Christmas played a major part in the proceedings including lots of Christmas trees, food and twinkling of lights.

Sian Lloyd tied the knot on the 30th December after a 10 month romance and a proposal at the bottom of Mount Killimanjaro in Tanzania. It was an intimate affair with only 7 attending. The couple wanted a “no fuss no nonsense” wedding.

Des Oconnor renewd his wedding vows in Sydney Australia after being married for only 4 months, the couple have been together for 17 years prior to their wedding.

Amy Winehouse will be renewing her vows in prison with her Husband to show her commitment to him and support for him during his sentence.

Recent Engagements

Gareth Gates and his girlfriend of 5 years have recently announced their engagement so there may well be wedding bells for the young star and his dancing girlfriend.

Kate Moss proposed to her boyfriend Jamie Hince over the festive season however rumours are that they will be enjoying a long engagement and taking their time.

 

Recently published on forbes.com was a list of the top 20 most expensive celebrity weddings which have taken place over the last 20 years. Some you will have heard of and seen and some were very determined to keep the paparazzi out therefore doing as much as they could in secret and going to great lengths to put them off the sent. The costs have been estimated by using the information about each wedding taking in to account the location, number of guests, desginers involved, food, drink and all of those little things that we all know add up to make the big difference.
